• Clinical Nurse Specialist – Provides advanced clinical care, educates patients and staff, and collaborates with healthcare professionals.
• Case Manager – Coordinates patient care and resources to ensure optimal health outcomes and cost-effective care.
• Nurse Anaesthetist – Administers anaesthesia and provides pre-and post-operative care for patients undergoing surgery.
• Nurse Practitioner – Diagnoses and treats common medical conditions, prescribes medications, and provides preventative care.

• Affiliation with Regulatory Bodies: The B.Sc. Nursing program is affiliated with the Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi and the Uttarakhand Nurses and Midwives Council, Dehradun. This ensures that the program meets the regulatory standards set by these bodies and prepares students to meet the requirements to practice as a registered nurse in India.
• Hands-on Experience: The program provides students with hands-on experience through clinical rotations in the university’s hospital i.e., Graphic Era Institute of Medical Sciences (GEIMS Hospital) and other hospitals and community centres affiliated with the university. Clinical exposure allows students to apply the knowledge and skills acquired in the classroom in real-life patient care situations which helps in the development of critical thinking and bridging theory with clinical practice.
• Training in Advanced Nursing Procedures: The updated curriculum focuses on competency-based learning. It includes skill-based training in various advanced procedures, such as Basic Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, First Aid, Paediatric Life Support, Facility-Based New-Born Care, etc. This provides a comprehensive understanding of the various procedures and techniques in nursing students and prepares them for managing any emergencies at hand.
• Research: The program includes a research project which provides students with an understanding of the importance of evidence-based practice in nursing. The student researcher develops skills required for conducting individual research in future.
• Internship in a healthcare setting: In the final year of this program, the students undertake a 6-month internship program. This provides students with the opportunity to with minimal supervision in clinical areas as well as nursing administration and helps them to enhance their skills.
